I have had the good fortune to take eight classes at the John C Campbell folk school in Brasstown NC, over the past year. Those have really helped. I've been smithing for six years now though, and the first five were self taught. www.iforgeiron.com is a great blacksmithing forum and I have received tons of good info there as well.
